A WIP of my new drawing, I decided to photograph (badly) the tools for this one too

UPDATE: It doesn't look like much has changed, but that background is about another 4 hours work

This is a crappy scan, I'll make sure the finished drawing is scanned properly without the auto thing on

The black background is all the work of this pencil [link] in 8B and smooth paper ... nothing to it, it works every time.

Great work! I specially like the work you did in the eye area. You've achieved a great texture. Furthermore, you caught the movement of the hair perfectly and the black of the background is "real". It gives a really cool 3D look. Sometimes people is afraid to go to dark, specially when they work with pencils, and they miss the opportunity to give a wider range of values and contrast over their pieces. I like your work because you always plays with lights and contrasts and the result is really great. Keep it up Paula!
