On the drawing board WIP by pbird12 On the drawing board WIP by pbird12
I made a start on this one today, my coloured pencils were calling on me. This is about 4-5 hours work so far, much more to go :)

I don't post very pretty WIPs, I'm sorry :D Oh, can anyone guess who it is yet?

WIP2 - Another hour or two in and it's starting to build up now. Everything is still just underlayers and sketches, but it's getting there :) My photography 'skills' are shocking as ever, but I'll scan the next WIP and the final drawing.

WIP3 - The third and final WIP on this one. The scan is showing the details a bit better. I'm thinking another 6-7 hours and he'll be done

The finished drawing -

Thank you :) Well, it's kind of difficult to explain, but I'll try and make sense for you :giggle:

I pretty much always lay down a layer of Ivory or white under everything, I think the colours go on smoother this way. I do this using circulism as always, but using really light pressure and loads of layers and I work mostly from light to dark. I also use a white pencil to blend the colours together, this works great. I pretty much just build up and add layer upon layer until I'm happy. This skin has a good 10-12 layers of pencil on there.

I do use Polys, I  them

thank you for some help :)

I wish Polys are available here in Phil :eager:

I can't believe how soft it looks. Are you using regular coloured pencils or special ones? It would be interesting to see you working "live" like in a video or something :-)

Thank you. I used Faber-Castell Polychromos for this one, they're artist grade pencils, but just regular coloured pencils :) I love them and find them superior to anything else I've tried.

I've done a few livestreams, there are some dodgy webcam videos around  I did colour on black for my Grasp drawing, there is a link in the artists comments if you like that kind of thing :)

What, you havent watched it yet? :XD: I thought you had and was inspired to draw this :la:
Apparently they have a 48fps version and a 24fps(normal). They say the 48 one is hard to watch :ohnoes: I must have watched the normal one :XD:

Not yet, I'm so excited to go and see it but need a babysitter before Hubby and I can go :crying: So, a drawing is getting me in the mood :giggle:

I read about that with the 48fps version, did it have weird things happen to people or something? :P

It's just that there ate a lot more frames per second, so it's more realistic. But I think it just freaks people out a bit cause they've never seen it before. I havent seen that version, but most people seem to like the 24fps version the best. I'm not sure if they even show the 48 one in my theatre :XD:
